A JAPANESE IMARI BALUSTER JAR, MOUNTED AS A LAMP
Late 17th century
Decorated with variously shaped cartouches enclosing cranes amidst trees, flower pots with prunus and birds, a butterfly and a cockerel and a hen in a fenced garden, all below the neck decorated with cartouches enclosing a phoenix alternating with lotus, and above a border with cartouches enclosing the cash motif, with a whirl pattern around the foot, mounted as a lamp
