There is a Barbizon House sticker on the reverse, and Barbizon House had an apparently identical painting circa 1926, described as oil on millboard, measuring 20 x 35 in. The present scene depicts the lagoon slightly east of the Punta de Dogana, with the Dogana faintly visible background left.
