Lot Essay

Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna (1853-1920) was the daughter of Alexander II and Marie of Hesse and sister of Alexander III. The Grand Duchess married in 1874 Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, second son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
