Shaped oval and on a skirt base with four acanthus and scroll feet, with two bifurcated acanthus and scroll handles, the detachable cover with leaf and beaded scroll handle, with a gilt interior, the ladle with foliage scroll handle and a gilt bowl, the tureen and ladle each engraved on one side with Russian Imperial arms and on the other with initials below a crown, the tureen marked on base, on each handle and on cover bezel, the ladle marked on the back

The initials are those of Grand Dutchess Olga Nikolaevna (1822-1892).
