Lot Essay

This rug is one of two used in the romantic scene where James Bond [George Lazenby] and Tracy di Vicenzo [Diana Rigg] shelter in a barn during a snowstorm, which leads to his proposal of marriage.
This rug was purchased by the vendor post-production; he recalls that at the time, it was covered in artificial snow which has since been removed.
