24o (100 x 90 mm). Etched throughout: apparently printed from a single copperplate on one side of a half-sheet. Frontispiece, title-vignette, 10 three-quarter-page illustrations (each captioned with a quatrain), all colored by a contemporary hand (probably at the publisher's). Original tan wrappers, letterpress title on front and back cover (as transcribed above); quarter roan folding case.

A printing and publishing business associated with a Thomas Hodgson was set up at 43 King Street about 1820, and this firm, Hodgson & Co., moved to 10 Newgate Street in 1822 only to be taken over by William Cole in 1825. See Alderson & Oyens, pp.175-78.
