10 volumes, 18o (vols 1-4, 99 x 65 mm) and 32o (vols 5-10). Etched frontispieces and illustrations. Original marbled boards, colored paper spines, etched pictorial labels on the first four, title labels on the remaining (some mostly light rubbing); ORIGINAL WOODEN BOX, lined with pink paper, two compartments containing the ten volumes, forming a portable library, an empty drawer underneath with engraved label, sliding lid with engraved pictorial hand-colored and varnished label showing the title and a boy handing a book to a girl from a glazed Georgian bookcase, carved pediment showing a globe and forming a handle at the top of the lid (engraving somewhat rubbed, some light wear).
The titles comprise: The Good Childs Cabinet of Natural History. 4 volumes. -- Rewards for Attentive Studies, or stories moral and entertaining. -- The History of England from the Conquest to the Death of George II. -- Scripture History, or, a brief account of the Old and New Testament. 2 volumes. -- Short and Easy Rules for Attaining a Knowledge of English Grammar. -- Exercises for Ingenuity: consisting of queries, transpositions, charades, rebuses and riddles.
