This bookcase is influenced by the designs of late 19th century makers such as Gillows & Co. A sideboard with similar characteristics designed by Bruce Talbert is illustrated in John Andrews The Price Guide to Victoran, Edwardian and 1920's Furniture 1860-1930, p.162, pl.426
