A Victorian brass skeleton timepiece
Smith's of Clerkenwell, retailed by Harbinson & Co., Belfast. Circa 1870
The brass frame flanked by gilt-metal recumbent lions and with central compass, a silvered plaque to the front signed HARBINSON & CO. BELFAST, on stepped ebonised plinth and under glass dome, the silvered and engraved Roman chapter ring with interlaced pierced circlets to the centre, blued steel beetle hands, the frame joined by four front and back-screwed tapering pillars, eight day movement with single chain fusee and anchor escapement, wheels with five crossings; triple rod pendulum
