A William and Mary walnut and floral marquetry longcase clock

The flat top hood (formerly rising) with inset spiral-twist columns, convex throat mouldings, the trunk door with oval lenticle and with marquetry reserves depicting birds and flowers, with conforming floral marquetry to a plinth raised on a later skirting, the 11 in. square brass dial signed along the lower edge Edmund Massey Londini Fecit, with floral scroll engraving to the other quarter points, foliate and cherub mask spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with engraving to the date aperture and with ringed winding holes, blued steel hands, the eight day movement raised on blocks and with five ringed pillars and formerly latched dial feet (one remaining), with anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on bell (stamped ALMOND), formerly with bracket to backboard; two weights, pendulum, crank key, two case keys
