A RARE NINE-SHOT FLINTLOCK REPEATING MAGAZINE PISTOL ON THE LORENZONI PRINCIPLE, BY H.W. MORTIMER & CO., LONDON, GUN MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY
Circa 1799-1806
With heavy browned twist octagonal sighted turn-off barrel signed in full (rubbed), blued bevelled back-action lock signed in full on an engraved ribband scrolled about a lion, the action blued and finely engraved throughout, including flowers, swags and a series of elaborate trophies-of-arms, chequered walnut butt with spirally fluted pommel, and the trigger-guard engraved with a further martial trophy (the steel parts recoloured, the barrel and trigger-guard with light pitting).
