A GERMAN TWO-HAND PROCESSIONAL SWORD
Early 17th Century
With flat double-edged blade widening towards a spear point, struck with a mark on both sides at the forte, and long leather-covered ricasso formed with a pair of lugs, blackened iron hilt of diamond section bars decorated with simple incised patterns throughout, guard of characteristic type including inner-and outer-rings each enclosing projecting fleur-de-lys, plummet-shaped pommel, and leather-covered spirally fluted grip with original decorative tassels.
