AN ITALIAN SEVEN-RING RAPIER
Early 17th Century
With long tapering blade changing to flattened-diamond section cut with short fullers at the forte, the inner fuller cut with 'running wolf' mark, rectangular ricasso struck with a mark, 'B' crowned on both sides, iron hilt of slender bars, comprising inner-and outer-guards of seven rings, the lowest fitted with fluted double-shell, fluted pommel of barrel-form, and original wire-bound grip (pitted, the grip binding damaged).
