A GERMAN STAGHORN POWDER-FLASK
Circa 1580
With forked body of natural horn, the outer-face carved in relief with the figures of Moses, St. John the Baptist and Christ Crucified all below the Gates of Heaven and all within a strapwork frame, plain iron mounts with filed inner borders, one basal cap unscrewing for filling, the nozzle with spring-loaded cap, moulded iron belt hook, six cabled rings, and with suspension cord hung with bullion tassels (belt hook associated, the rings, cords and tassels all modern).
