Lot Essay

Paul I of Russia (1754-1801) was the Emperor of Russia between 1796 and 1801. After his first wife died in childbirth, his mother, Catherine the Great (1729-1796) arranged another marriage on October 7, 1776, with the beautiful Sophia Dorothea of Wurttemberg, christened in The Russian Orthodox Church 'Maria Feodorovna'. They had ten children.
