A WILLIAM IIII SILVER-MOUNTED SHAGREEN PENNER,
UNMARKED, CIRCA 1700,
Tubular with silver piqué decoration, the base with silver seal with intaglio armorial, the silver pull-off top pierced with 7 holes to act as a sander, 3 3/8 in.long (8.7 cm.).

The arms are for D'Oyley, baronets of Chiselhampton, Oxon.
Sir John D'Oyley, MP for Woodstock, Oxon, was created a baronet in 1666 but with the death of his grandson, of the same name, the baronetcy evidently became extinct.
