AN 18TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL SILVER-MOUNTED HORN BEAKER,
UNMARKED, PROBABLY AUSTRIAN OR SOUTH GERMAN, CIRCA 1760,
Of cylindrical form, silver-lined, the upper rim chased with rococo scrollwork, the foot rim chased with repetitive, overlapping stiff leaves, the sides pinned with cut-out silver mounts in the form of rocky outcrops, waterfalls, mountain goats, a reclining huntsman with powder horn & a large pine tree, the horn base impressed with a circlet featuring a mountain goat & below this the initials "F.A", 4 in. high (10 cm.).
