The faceted, tapering columns with restrained foliate engraving and a small monogrammed shield, the columns terminating in three lion clawed feet above a small pedestal at centre of circular bases chas4ed around their borders with mythical winged beasts & scrolls on matted ground, the tops of columns with three projecting Ancient Egyptian male heads, the campana-shaped capitals foliate-engraved above a small matted pedestal decorated with star motifs, the nozzles with anthemion borders, 11¼ in. high (28.5 cm.), 37 oz. Further details
The design of these candlesticks was inspired by the ideas brought back from Napoleon's invasion of Egypt at the very end of the 18th Century. Paraud registered his mark in 1800.
