A LARGE EDWARDIAN IRISH SILVER CUP & COVER IN THE QUEEN ANNE STYLE,
MARK OF WEST & SON, DUBLIN, 1908,
Campana-shaped with bats-wing fluting below a chased foliate girdle, the waisted cover with similarly fluted rim & stag's head crest finial, the knopped stem on circular foot with fluted border, insribed to front wit armorial in the early 18th century style with inscription around body "Ex dono amicorum amico Roberto Arbuthnot Holmes. Equiti Commendatori Ordinis Balnei, e republica in otium honestum se recipenti observantiae atque amoris pignus MCMVIII"., 23½ in. high (60 cm.), 65.5 oz.
