Baluster form with domed cover, the rim of the kettle ressembling a coronet, swing handle & pointed knop finial, chased & embossed with flowers & "C" scrolls, the stand with spirit lamp, on elaborate floral-embellished, foliate scroll feet, the kettle inscribed on either side within two cartouches "The value of prizeswon by the Yacht "Bijou" 10 tons, the property of R.D.Kane Esqre. R.I.Y.C. at regattas held in the year 1857. Kingstown 1st.July, Dalkey 8th.August, Howth 12th.August, Kingstown Model Yacht Club 26th.August", 18¼ in. high (46.5 cm.), 97.5 oz.
