Lot Essay

The etching portrays the Rousseau family; close friends of the artist. Ernest Rousseau and his wife are showing on the right, their son in the upper left, the sister of Ernest in the middle. In the lower left corner a selfportrait of Ensor. This print is also known under the title "My biestly friends".
