A Japanese six leaf screen, 18th century
painted in sumi, gofun and colours on paper, depicting scenes from a Chinese story with scholars, dignitaries and attendants before walled pavilions, on horseback, foot and in carriages, presenting a variety of gifts to the wealthy landlords -- each painted panel 46in. x 20¼in. (116.8cm. x 51.4cm.), all mounted on a gold panelled ground.
