Two similar carved mother-of-pearl shells, circa 1825
each with the interior carved with a scene of equestrian figures and soldiers fighting in town streets, with onlookers inside pavilions, men playing weiqi and peasants carrying bundles, all above carved flower sprays and melons, with the tip of the shell carved as a mythical fish -- 7¼in. (18.4cm.) wide. (2)
