A CHINESE FLAMBÉ DISH, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
of compressed globular form the sturdily potted dish with hexafoil foliate rim and two archaistic style zoomorphic fixed ring handles moulded to the sides of the body, is covered inside and out with a dark ruby red glaze, dappled with dark spots and streaks, paling, where the glaze thins around the rim and on the handles and stopping on the vertical footring -- 6¾in. (16.2cm) diam.
