A Chinese Longquan celadon glazed dish, 15th century
the convex well rising to the fluted sides and barbed rim, supported on a short tapering foot, the centre moulded with a foliate peony spray, covered with a sea-green glaze except for a band at the base burnt orange -- 12 7/8in. (32.7cm.) diam.
