Lot Essay

Engelbert Joosten was born in 1717. In 1755 he became member of the silversmiths guild in The Hague. He was an outstanding silversmith who largely worked in Louis XV style.
An important tureen by Joosten was sold at Christie's Amsterdam on 3 December, 1992, lot 1082.
