This is a rare early example of a Sooty, production puppets differ from those produced as toys. Firstly they are made to fit each puppeteer's hand tightly. They also have a longer skirt so there is no chance of seeing the arm. Often you will find Copydex (glue) stains on the pads as this was used to fix various objects into Sooty's paws. The nature of the show with water pistol and custard pie fights, resulted in a rapid turnover of the main star.
