Chiarugi, Botteghe di Mobilieri in Toscana, Florence, 1994, p. 156, figs. 180-182; and A.M. Massinelli, Il Mobile Toscano, Milan, 1993, p. 193, pl. XCVIII, XCIX.). The Borghese suite consisted of a large quantity of stools, long sofas and armchairs.

Each with a circular padded seat upholstered in red velvet, above a frieze carved with floral patterae and entwined mouldings, on turned tapering and fluted legs headed by acanthus-wrapped spheres and terminating in conformingly decorated sabots, minor restorations to gilding, one with a rectangular paper label inscribed 'PALAZZO REALE DI ... Appartamento di Sua Ma... la Regina No' and with an illegible inventory number, one stool marked 'X'
