The hood with brass rosette-capped swan neck pediment and outset reeded columns, with conforming half columns flanking the cross-banded trunk door, above plinth with canted angles, the 12½ in. wide painted dial with rose spandrels to Roman chapter ring with dot minute track, subsidiary seconds and date rings to the centre, cut steel hands, the arch with rolling tidal moon and with rubbed WHITEHAVEN signature above, pinned directly to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 89½ in. (222 cm.) high; pendulum, two weights
