An unusual Regency mahogany day and night dial timepiece, early 20th Century
The moulded multi-piece mahogany dial frame centred by a silvered Roman and Arabic engraved dial plate signed Rivers & Son/CORNHILL London, the cut-out above with pierced Roman silvered chapter ring revolving behind and indirectly driven from the motionwork carried on a brass arm extension to the front plate, the eight day movement with shouldered plates with four baluster pillars, single gut fusee with anchor escapement, the pine and mahogany salt box cover with brass candle tray set into the top -- 16½ in.
