The case with brass handle to inverted bell top, glazed side panels, brass dial with foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with recessed silvered signature plaque for E. Whittingham/LONDON, date aperture, blued steel pierced, strike/silent ring in the arch, the eight day twin fusee movement with five pillars, verge escapement and strike/trip repeat on bell, the back plate with chinoiserie engraving centred by a pagoda and hold fast hook -- 17¾ in.
