". . .It reached its plateau of perfection in the late 1970s: still pale, fine bubbles; rich, smoky, subtle nose; richness balanced by acidity, its flavour opening up majestically. Several more notes in the 1980s, at around 20 years old still relatively pale, with an exceptionally rich bouquet which evolved beautifully in the glass. By 1990, its colour had deepened to a distinct straw gold, bouquet showing age and character, seemed drier but had good length.
