"Almost always the best 1er in the Dauvissat portfolio and this displays real energy as it explodes from the glass with detailed green fruit notes and flavors that are so pure they seem cut directly from liquid rock. The Vaillons is a very intense wine but this takes the intensity up yet another notch and the persistence this displays is phenomenal. This too is irrefutably of grand cru quality. There is enough fat that this could be enjoyed now but the balance and extract are so good that this will clearly be capable of aging for at least a decade, perhaps longer." BH, March 26, 2004
