"This is quite ripe with fully mature, spicy and earthy aromas that are almost completely secondary at this point but with no sous bois that are followed by complex, velvety and utterly delicious flavors that still possess plenty of vibrancy and punch on the long and still moderately structured finish. Though the tannins are not invisible, they do not dominate this wine the way they do with so many '76s. A great effort for what has turned out to be a rather disappointing vintage. This is certainly ready to drink but with proper storage, it should last for another 20+ years." BH, March 13, 2005
