Levels: bottom neck; signs of seepage, Oporto bottled
"Tasted several times since 1956 though not recently; 'charm' noted fairly consistently. At the Hollywood Wine Society tasting of 1945s, Noval, bottled by Churtons of Liverpool, was palish but still had a youthful tinge; a fragrant, rich, harmonious bouquet; sweet, perfect weight, lovely fruit, good, dry finish. A wine of feminine graciousness. More recently, with short cork and labelled 'da Silva': rather unimpressive colour; unknit and spicy, orange blossom and candlewax bouquet; sweet, fullish, lean, intense, citrus-like acidity. LAst noted at the Noval tasting, November 1989. At best *****. MB, Vintage Wine
