Wolfgang Hoffmann, the son of the Viennese architect Josef Hoffmann, immigrated with his wife, Pola, to the United States in 1925 where they establish their own creative identity. As a design team they created several distinguished interiors and designed a group of objects based on architecural forms during the late twenties.
Wolfgang became involved in the design of exhibits at the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago and shortly thereafter developed a group of tubular metal furniture for the Howell Co. in nearby St. Charles, Illinois.
