Lot Essay

cf. M. Boman, ed., Svenske Möbler 1890-1900, Lund, 1991, p. 186 for an illustration of chairs of this model.

This chair was a gift from Asplund to the architect Viking Göransson in 1930. Asplund used the chair in the boardroom of the offices of Svenske Slöjdföreningen (The Swedish Society of Arts and Crafts) publishers of Form magazine. It is believed to be the prototype of this model.
