QUEEN ANNE REVIVAL VELVET, 1880-1900
a panel of cut and uncut silk velvet in deep green and dark red on a cream satin ground, depicting a basket of stylized leaves under and arcaded arch entwined with grapes and vine leaves,--64 x 23.5in. (163 x 60cm), probably by Gainsborough Silk for Hampton Court Palace, this design is similar to the Spitalfields velvets ordered in 1714 for Queen Anne's bed
