This folding-frame chair pattern was adopted by Baron Alexis de Rédé (d. 2004) in the 1950s for banquets held in the 18th century splendour of his apartment in the Hôtel Lambert, Paris, and also featured on the yacht Gaviota, purchased in 1950 by Arturo Lopez (d.1962) (H. Vickers, Alexis; The Memoirs of the Baron de Rédé, Dorset, 2005, pp.58 and 91).
