CIRCA 1470-1500, VALENCIA (PROBABLY MANISES)
The centre decorated in brown lustre with a coat of arms of an owl displayed, the shield against a ground of 'dot and stalk' ornament within a moulded circular rib forming the base of fifteen radiating arched panels edged with moulded ribs and lustred alternately with 'dot and stalk' ornament and 'thistle bud' ornament, the border with two pierced apertures for suspension, the reverse lustred with bold fern leaf ornament divided by two groupings of double concentric circles (broken through and restored with areas of over-painting and re-touching to lustre; chipping, fritting and flaking to rim and ribs)
