AN HISPANO-MORESQUE LUSTRE DISH
CIRCA 1525-60, PROBABLY VALENCIA (MANISES)
Decorated in lustre and blue, the raised central boss lustred with foliate motifs within a blue band, the lustred well reserved with large foliate motifs within a blue band, the lustred border reserved with scrolling leaves within concentric lustred lines, two pierced apertures for suspension, the reverse lustred with bands of wave ornament divided by concentric circles (broken into two sections with associated over-painting along break and D-shaped area at rim probably a replacement, further cracks, chipping and flaking)
12½ in. (31.8 cm.) diam.
