A PORTUGUESE DATED TWO-HANDLED POSSET-POT

Of depressed baluster form with two small scroll handles applied to the shoulders, painted in blue and white and highlighted in yellow, one side with a crown flanked by the date 1658 within a medallion, the other side with a rampant lion within a medallion on a ground of flowering plants above a band of loops and arrowheads, the interior with a lip (lip on interior partially lacking, chips and glaze flaking to rim and footrim, glaze flaking to handles)
