Moulded in relief with Perseus and Andromeda, Andromeda chained to a rock and Perseus about to slay the sea monster before a crowd of agitated onlookers including warriors and men in togas, one tending a fire and with a dog at his feet, a walled town in the distance, all in green, grey, blue, ochre, brown and manganese glazes, the underside streaked in brown and green glazes (restoration to rim between 11.30 and 2.30 o'clock, repaired chips to foot, very minor surface blemishes)

Lot Essay
