A CASTELLI RECTANGULAR PLAQUE
CIRCA 1730, PROBABLY GENTILE WORKSHOP
Painted in the typical palette with Christ, seated and at discussion with five standing disciples, in flowing robes, on a terrace between classical buildings and before a lake with distant buildings and mountains (very slight chipping to edges and reverse), in a giltwood and black painted frame (two drilled holes to sides of frame, cracks to wood, flaking to gilding and paint)
The plaque 7¾ in. (19.7 cm.) high and 10¾ in. (27.3 cm.) wide
