A FRENCH BRONZE MORTAR
EARLY 16TH CENTURY
The flaring rim above six ribs, the waisted body cast with two female heads and four medaillons. Depicting amongst others archangel Michael and Anna Selbdritt
8.5 cm. high; 13.2 cm. diam.
Together with a French bronze mortar with six ribs and lion's masks, early 16th century - 8.2 cm. high x 12.6 cm. diam.; A Spanish bronze mortar with two handles and six notched ribs, 16th century - archeological find, 9.8 cm. high x 15.2 cm. diam.; And a Spanish bronze mortar with six plain ribs, 16th/17th century - 11.5 cm. high x 11.5 cm. diam.
