The moulded arched hood with pierced soundfrets to frieze and sides, canted angles with pilastars with gilt brass Corinthian capitals, surmounted by giltwood flaming urn finials, the arched and banded trunk door with gilt-brass lenticle mount depicting the Rape of Europa, on rectangular plinth with canted angles, the brass dial with engraved borders and gilt foliate spandrels to a silvered and arcaded Roman and Arabic chapter ring, signed to the rear TH, matted centre with scroll engraving flanking a day of week sector engraved with figures and Zodiac symbols, subsidiary seconds ring above with date aperture, flanked by a silvered signature plaque inscribed Theunes Haakma/Leeuwarden, brass alarm disc, painted steel hands, ringed winding holes, silvered engraved arch with biblical scenes above painted rolling moon, eight day four pillar movement with anchor escapement, Dutch strike on two bells, lacking alarm work; pendulum, two large weights, cranck key and door key
