A finely engineered exhibition standard 2in. scale model of the Clayton undertype articulated wagon No. 2, owned by the Steam Transport Company Axminster, Devon,
built by D. A. Steele, with brazed superheated copper boiler with centre fuelling shute and fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, injector, whistle, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include twin cylinders with enclosed valve gear and cranks, cab operated valve chest draincock, ratchet operated lubricator, injector, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, whistle and single speed chain drive to rear axle. Chassis details include worm and quadrant operated Ackerman steering, rubber tyred wheels with brass hub caps and oilers, working leaf springs, rear axle differential unit, cab-controlled damper, water tank and trailer ball hitch. Further details include panelled cab with brass-bound canvas covered roof, driver's and passenger's seats and cushions, spring loaded door catches, safety valve extension pipe and bucket. Trailer details include channel section frame, wooden platform with simulated planked floor with removeable post and chain surround, working leaf springs and rubber tyred wheels with brass hub caps and spring loaded ball attachment, finished in blue with yellow lining, red and black and polished brightwork -- 45.5 x 160cm.
