A finely detailed exhibition standard 3½in. gauge model of the British Railways (ex. London, Midland and Scottish Railway Class 5) 4-6-0 locomotive and tender No. 44835,
built by B. J. Newman, with brazed superheated copper boiler built by Kennion Brothers, Hertford, with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, injector, whistle, steam brake, clack and blowdown valves. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with Walschaert's valve gear, finely fluted connecting and coupling rods, mechanical lubricator, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, injector, whistle and steam operated brake gear. Further details include dummy sanding boxes, fine pipework, boiler wash out plugs, steps, hand and lamp irons. Tender details include hand operated brake gear, water cock, hand feed pump, dummy toolbox, lamps, tank vents and lifting eyes, steps, hand and lamp irons, finished in B.R. black livery and lining with etched buillder's and other plates -- 25.5 x 122cm. (10 x 48in.) Ballasted show track with scale rails.
