An unsual 1½in. scale model of an Aveling & Porter twin cylinder two-speed four-shaft convertible road engine,
with riveted copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety and clack valves. Engine details include twin cylinders 5/8in. bore x 1½in. stroke, footplace controlled draincocks and pipework, mechanical lubricator, trunk-type crosshead guides, Stephenson's link reverse, dog clutch-operated eccentric-driven feed pump, two road speeds mounted inside the hornplates and disc flywheel. Chassis details include worm and roller chain steering, belly and tender tanks, hand feed pump, hand-operated hand brake, damper, and three-quarter length canopy mounted on steel supports, separate perch bracket, spud pan and spoked front wheels and spoked straked rear wheels for conversion of engine from road roller to traction engine, finished in Aveling & Porter standard livery and lining and polished brightwork -- 35.5 x 65cm.
