A well engineered and unusual 5in. gauge model of a De Winton 0-4-0 quarry engine,
with brazed copper vertical fire tube boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, whistle and clack valves. Chassis details include twin vertically mounted copper clad cylinders with Stephenson's link reverse, draincocks, mechanical and displacement lubricators, counter balanced crankshaft with roller bearings to big end and main bearings with disengagable gear drive to leading coupled axle. Further details include twin eccentric driven feed pumps and bypass, counterbalanced coupled axles with working leaf springs to trailing axle, riveted copper feed water tank, coal bunker, hand feed pump, single front buffer and removable canopy mounted on two turned steel columns, finished in red, green, black and polished brightwork -- 40.5 x 70cm. (16 x 27½in.)
